Description
Library LB7 Franco Albini for Poggi 1950, three spans, designed by Franco Albini for Poggi around 1950. The system is part of the Milanese architect’s research on the theme of furniture as a light architectural structure, in which function and formal rigor are translated into an essential and measured design. The sky-to-ground bookcase is characterized by 4 vertical uprights, shelves and a suspended storage module, according to a principle of balance and modularity that makes the whole visually light but structurally solid. The project reflects Albini’s rationalist approach, based on constructive clarity, the reduction of superfluous elements and the conscious use of materials. The “LB7” model is a floor-to-ceiling model considered one of the most representative examples of Poggi’s production and post-war Italian design, an expression of a timeless language, capable of integrating naturally into contemporary and historical contexts.
Very good general condition, with patina consistent with age. Provenance: private collection.
