Mario Ceroli 3 Seater Sofa for Poltronova, Italy, 1972. Mario Ceroli (Castel Frentano, 1938) is one of the most important Italian artists, sculptors and designers of the post-war period. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he came into contact with masters such as Leoncillo, Fazzini and Colla, he began his career as a ceramist. In 1958 he exhibited at the Spoleto Prize and held his first solo exhibition at the Galleria San Sebastinello in Rome. Carrozzeria900 is pleased to present these pieces in an exhibition dedicated to Mario Ceroli, entitled “Teatro Domestico”. The exhibition brings together a nucleus of wooden furnishings conceived by the artist from a country house. This collection includes chairs, tables, armchair, sofas, a bed, a chest of drawers and a window, all elements that make up an authentic artist’s interior, a place where the boundary between design and art dissolves into a theater of forms, presences and memories, in fact, a Domestic Theater. Provenance: private collection.
