Description
Sculpture Sun in the Window Mario Ceroli. Mario Ceroli (Castel Frentano, 1938) is one of the most important Italian artists, sculptors and designers of the post-war period. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he came into contact with masters such as Leoncillo, Fazzini and Colla, he began his career as a ceramist. In 1958 he exhibited at the Spoleto Prize and held his first solo exhibition at the Galleria San Sebastinello in Rome. Starting in 1959, Mario Ceroli distinguished himself for the innovative use of materials such as raw wood and Russian pine, with which he created shaped and functional sculptures, capable of dialoguing with the surrounding environment. His works, characterized by decisive lines, dramatic shapes and strong scenic impact, often pay homage to masterpieces of art history. Carrozzeria900 is pleased to present an exhibition dedicated to Mario Ceroli, entitled “Domestic Theatre”. The exhibition brings together a nucleus of wooden furnishings conceived by the artist from a country house. This collection includes chairs, tables, armchair, sofas, a bed, a chest of drawers and a window, all elements that make up an authentic artist’s interior, a place where the boundary between design and art dissolves into a theater of forms, presences and memories, in fact, a Domestic Theater.
