Description
Mario Ceroli Rosa dei Venti Table for Mirabili, Italy. The table is built through a skilful work of cutting, interlocking and sanding the wood, techniques that give the work a proportional solemnity similar to that of the classical and medieval world. The geometric composition, which evokes, for example, the Roman Cosmatesque style, transforms the top into a symbol of great archaic strength. As typical of Ceroli’s poetics, the piece of furniture goes beyond its practical function to become a figure full of sacredness, combining the quality of the industrial product with the depth of a traditional reference. The result is a piece with a monumental character, in which construction precision blends with simple and truthful imagery. Provenance: Private collection.
