Description
Montjuic floor lamps. Set of 2 Montjuïc floor lamps, designed by Santiago Calatrava for Artemide in the nineties. The project reflects the architectural and structural approach typical of the author, translating into luminous form a research based on balance, tension and dynamism. The lamp is characterized by a slender diagonally arranged structure in black polycarbonate, supported by a double foot that accentuates its stability and sculptural impact. The lampshade, in transparent shaped methacrylate, rests on a red sphere, a chromatic element that introduces a clear and recognizable visual sign. The Montjuïc model draws inspiration from the Olympic cauldrons of Barcelona, reinterpreted in a domestic key through an essential but highly evocative formal language.
Good general condition, with slight signs of aging compatible with age and use. Provenance: private collection.
