Description
Ettore Sottsass planter for Poltronova, featuring a vibrant orange finish that emphasizes its totemic and chromatic value. The project reflects Sottsass’s experimental approach, oriented towards the redefinition of the furnishing object as an expressive and symbolic element.
The essential shape and saturated color transform the planter into an autonomous architectural presence, capable of dialoguing with the space beyond the simple storage function. Poltronova’s production places the object within a season of radical research in Italian design, in which form, colour and concept become tools for breaking with the modernist tradition.
A significant example of Italian design of the second half of the twentieth century, the planter combines function and visual identity in an object with a strong character.
Good general condition, with signs of aging compatible with age and use. Provenance: private collection.
