Super table lamp designed by Martine Bedin for Memphis in 1981. The project fits fully into the context of the birth of the Memphis movement, of which Bedin is one of the founding figures, and represents one of the most emblematic examples of Italian postmodern design of the early eighties. The lamp stands out for its use of elementary geometric shapes, bright colors and a deliberately playful approach, which breaks with the codes of functionalist modernism. The object takes on a strong expressive value, transforming the luminous function into a narrative and iconic element.
“Super” embodies the Memphis philosophy, based on compositional freedom, formal experimentation and contamination between design, art and pop culture. A symbolic piece of radical and postmodern design of the Eighties.

Very good general condition, with slight signs compatible with age and use. Provenance: private collection.
