Description
2 seater sofa “Mobili nella Valle” series, Mario Ceroli for Poltronova, Italy, 1972. Entirely built in shaped wood and this piece of furniture combines the plastic strength of sculpture with the functionality of design, representing one of the highest points of the artist’s research. The shapes are essential and monumental, characterized by a balance between art and craftsmanship, modernity and tradition. The work reflects Ceroli’s poetics, who conceives furniture as a habitable sculpture: objects to be experienced and touched, capable of establishing a direct and sensitive relationship with those who use them. Carrozzeria900 is pleased to present these pieces in an exhibition dedicated to Mario Ceroli, entitled “Teatro Domestico”. The exhibition brings together a nucleus of wooden furnishings conceived by the artist from a country house. This collection includes chairs, tables, armchair, sofas, a bed, a chest of drawers and a window, all elements that make up an authentic artist’s interior, a place where the boundary between design and art dissolves into a theater of forms, presences and memories, in fact, a Domestic Theater.
